I am so lucky to have such creative and inspiring people in my life, like good friend and film composer Sam Levin. A while ago he sent a work-in-progress piece which sparked my visual imagination and inspired me to edit light bending footage to it; after a bit of time in the percolation stage, it’s finished! Check it out below!
I'm so very lucky to know a lot of intensely creative people who, when they ask what you've been up to and you say "I'm making some weird videos with trippy visuals!", they respond by excitedly sending music to play with. And so, may I present Kaleidoscopic Funk, featuring music by my friend Groove Operator and visuals by yours truly.
Hi, blog-readers! It's been an age AGAIN since my last post, and for that I apologize. I'm not even sure where to start with an update...
The exhibition at Töso Wood Gallery has come down - they have a few pieces there still, if you happen to stop by (and you should, they have beautiful things) - and I am still so grateful to have had that opportunity. A couple of my shiny acrylic prints are out in the world! (If you are the happy owner of a shiny acrylic print, do send me an email / picture, I'd love to see my work in its new home.)
At the end of June, I left my job in film music and leaped fully into Art Life, as I affectionately call it. Fifteen years in post production was a good run, but it was time to move on to other things, and while I'm not "in the industry" any longer, I am putting all my knowledge and experience to good use and re-discovering the joy of filmmaking. Which brings me to this:
I now have a YouTube channel!
There will be more of these videos, so subscribe and stay tuned - I have ideas, time, and lots of material. Also I'm open to collaborations - a couple are in the works already - so get in touch if you need abstract visuals for a track / project / heretofore undiscovered media application. Interesting things happen with the connection of creative minds.
And finally, I'm happy to announce that there are a heap of new cards up in my Etsy shop, and also something new and different: hand-bound notebooks! If you've been wanting a pretty little journal / notebook / sketchbook / thought-catcher, well, there ya go! (I'm learning the craft of book binding. That's a whole other post in itself.)
Until next time...
